Sephora sent me a nice little $15 coupon back in December and I had to use it. This also happened around the time they were giving out a Cyber Monday Mystery Sample Bag, so of course I added that to my cart immediately.
Two of the sample items I was most excited for were the Lancôme Définicils High Definition Mascara and Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey.

You really don't know a good mascara 'til it comes along. This is, by far, the best mascara I have ever used. I don't know how much the trial differs from the regular size, but I love the shape of the brush and the consistency of the mascara. Because it is a dry formula, it is very light on the lashes and dries quickly. I don't think I will ever be a fan of wet mascaras — I like it to dry fast so I can re-curl my lashes after application. I will definitely be purchasing this after it runs out.
Sadly, the Clinique Almost lipstick was very disappointing. After seeing how dark it was in the tube, I was excited to have something similar to the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry.

As you can see from the swatches above, they are two entirely different colors. I guess I should've taken the "Almost" part of the name into consideration. It has a plastic smell (which I dislike) and is buildable, but you'll just end up looking like a 5-year-old girl playing with her mom's lipstick collection.
It didn't work for me, but that's the beauty of samples — you try it and avoid buying it if you don't like it!
Look, you can see my eyelashes!
Other items that came with the bag include samples of Shiseido's Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream, Lancôme's Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation in 310 Bisque and philosophy's time in a bottle.
Do you ever use the samples you get from Sephora?
